What is Therapy?

Therapy is the treatment of emotional problems through the use of psychological techniques. What does that mean? It means I help clients explore sensitive, often painful, topics within a confidential setting.

The ultimate goal is to help you feel better. Through the use of therapy, many clients are able to eliminate or reduce how often their symptoms return, or, at the very least, manage difficult feelings more effectively in the future.

People use therapy for a wide range of circumstances. More often than not, they are having trouble behaving as they usually do or they are just tired of feeling the way they feel. Either way, therapy is appropriate. Some common examples include depression, anxiety, inability to maintain healthy relationships, divorce or loss of a relationship, death of a loved one, loss of a job, etc.
